NEK Activities FAQ's

Most frequent questions and answers

The total costs for each sport are divided equally among the participants. Costs will include practice facilities, game facilities, equipment, officials/referees, insurance, tournament fees, etc. Uniforms are typically provided by NEK to be used during the season and returned for future usage. This “rental” is also included in the costs. Coaches are volunteers and do not receive any pay for their countless hours of work. A “thank you” gift may be gathered at the end of the season for coaches.

Approximate costs for each sport/activity per player are as follows:

Basketball – $200 to $250 Choir – $50/semester – $100/family/semester maximum
Cross Country – $75 to $125
Soccer – $125 to $175
Tennis – $100 to $150
Track – $75 to $120
Volleyball – $350 to $500 (varsity and JV are more than JH due to tournaments)

Parents/teams can organize fundraisers to help offset some of these costs. NEK does not charge for admission to home events for immediate family members. There will often be gate fees collected for events not hosted by NEK.
