About
NEK Nighthawk Volleyball is entering into it’s 5th year of providing homeschool volleyball league for girls from 6th grade through 12th grade. The girl’s season runs end of July through mid-October. Teams play approximately 15-20 match days, including 3-8 tournaments.
We also recently started offering boys volleyball in the Spring semester for athletes 7th-12th grade. We will be a part of the HOA league in Kansas City. The boy’s season starts in March and runs through the beginning of May.
Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people.

Our Coaches

Valerie Tolin
head HS Girls Volleyball Coach
Valerie Tolin grew up playing volleyball and has over six years coaching recreational teams. For the past five seasons, she has served as an assistant high school coach as well as the junior high coach. Valerie is passionate about sports and brings a competitive spirit to the court, but what she values most is investing in her players—encouraging them to persevere through challenges and celebrating their victories. Her heart is to constantly remind them of their identity in Christ and to play for God’s glory above all. Valerie and her husband, Darren, live in Topeka and have three children whom they have homeschooled for over five years.

Josh Fieleke
Head JH Girls Volleyball coach
Josh loves sports. He grew up the youngest of 4 boys and they all were playing whatever sport was in season. In school, he was the best at baseball, liked playing basketball the most, but ended up playing football in college at Missouri State University. He has coached his kids in lots of sports (basketball, softball, baseball, football, soccer), but this will be his first attempt into volleyball. He’s watched his girls play for years and loves the fast paced sport of volleyball. It was through sport that he came to Christ because of an injury in college and learned that our identity is in Christ and not our successes or failures. This truth is what he will hope to instill in the girls – while also working hard and having fun. Josh and his wife, Maddi live in Lawrence with their 4 children.
